Arkansas Valley Livestock Symposium
Colorado Livestock Association’s 2016 Arkansas Valley Livestock Symposium, an annual educational meeting for livestock producers, was held in La Junta, October 12, 2016. The meeting covered a diverse range of topics from antibiotic use to ammonia emissions and cattle markets to drones. Producers, industry, and sponsors enjoyed the program which featured a market outlook from Duane Lenz with CattleFax, tips for reducing antibiotic use from Dr. Larry Hollis, updates on Nitrogen Deposition in Rocky Mountain National Park and the efforts related to Nutrient Criteria. Legal guidance on shooting drones out of the sky was presented by Jeffrey Cullers, Herms and Herrera, who addressed private property rights related to the increasing use of drones. The day was full of valuable information about important issues facing the livestock industry and was enjoyed by all!
