Dairy farmers and employees gathered at Feldpausch Holsteins, LLC in Fort Morgan for the second session this past Thursday for a half-day presentation, the first of two seminars, covering stockmanship, cattle handling, and transportation safety.
The seminar started with an engaging and informative classroom presentation by Libby Bigler, Colorado BQA Coordinator, on the basics of cattle handling and livestock transportation standards and guidelines. Attendees joined Dean Fish, Ph.D., stockmanship clinician outside, for hands-on demonstrations on cattle handling techniques. Producers received training in best management practices to help improve their operation and learned firsthand the principles of Beef Quality Assurance.
Thanks to Erik Mohrlang and the team at Feldpausch Holsteins for hosting this event. Stay tuned for a video training resource being developed from the materials presented during the beef and dairy sessions!
