CLA Provides Market Insights, Tips for Silage Harvest Preparation, and a Special Update on the H5N1 Situation in Sterling
Aurora, CO – Today, speakers at the Colorado Livestock Association’s Lunch and Learn in Sterling, Colorado, provided valuable insights on protein markets, pre-harvest silage safety tips, and the current status of the H5N1 situation in Colorado.
Dr. Angel Aguilar, Director of Training and Development for Lallemand Animal Nutrition, shared valuable insights on silage safety and construction tips and tricks for producers to prepare for this year’s silage harvest.
Attendees heard a special presentation from the Colorado Assistant State Veterinarian Morgan McCarty, DVM, who shared the latest information on the H5N1 situation affecting dairy farms in several states, including Colorado. Dr. McCarty was on hand to discuss the pre-testing requirements for dairy cattle and answer questions from producers.
Following lunch, Dave Weaber, Senior Animal Protein Analyst for Terrain, a service of American AgCredit, shared red meat trends and opportunities for livestock producers to diversify.
