2016 Northeast Livestock Symposium

November 15, 2016 – Over 100 livestock producers, allied industry and sponsors gathered in Sterling this past Tuesday at CLA’s second annual Northeast Livestock Symposium, an educational event for area livestock producers. The meeting, moderated by CLA’s President-Elect Mike Veeman, kicked off with a market outlook given by Randy Blach, CEO, CattleFax. The meeting covered a diverse range of topics from antibiotic use to ammonia emissions and cattle markets to drones. Producers, industry, and sponsors enjoyed the day long program which included; legal guidance on drone use and trespassing; updates on nitrogen deposition in Rocky Mountain National Park; impending nutrient regulations; antibiotic use reduction and what is ahead for livestock agriculture in the 2017 Legislative session. The day was packed full of valuable information about important issues facing the livestock industry and was enjoyed by all!

Thank you to our 2016 meeting sponsors: AGPROfessionals, AgriClear, Alltech, Elanco Animal Health, Merck Animal Health, Multimin, Newport Labs, Pinnacol Assurance, Silveus Insurance, Zinpro Performance Minerals and Zoetis.
